"The Power of Song"
Connect with each other and our own true nature through mindfulness, music and creative expression. A Day of Mindfulness celebrating our human creativity and the creative arts facilitated by Dharmacharya Terry Cortes-Vega, Brian Otto Kimmel "Bk", Cornell Kinderknecht and Robin Hackett.

• The day will include sitting and walking meditation, talks, sharing, group activities, mini-workshops and an afternoon concert and sharing of our collective experience. We'll finish with a Sangha gathering with Awakening Heart (Community of Mindful Living).

Fee: sliding scale, suggested $25-$50.
Dana baskets will also be available to support the work of our teachers.

A full day of events is planned, showcasing the services, classes and activites the center offers, including a ribbon cutting with city and community leaders, and a community celebration. The day ends with the center's monthly drum circle. Attendees are invited to visit the Lotus Room and practice meditation on their own during the day's activities.

Special classes: Weather permitting, the Wednesday, August 5 morning Tai Chi classes will be held outdoors, on the west side of Cottonwood Park, 1301 W. Belt Line Rd, Richardson, about a mile and a half from the meditation center (see a map). In case of wet or rainy weather, the classes will be held at the meditation center.
NOTE: Tai Chi class will not meet on November 25.
The meditative, sequenced form of Easy Tai Chi is gentle, graceful, and flowing, using movements from longer Tai Chi forms that affect the entire body. Benefits may include improved balance, coordination and strength, increased relaxation, energy, circulation, flexibility, muscle tone, enhanced immune system and the lower blood pressure. Previous experince is not required.

Kids yoga in English and Spanish includes original art, music, games, stories, and other mindful, sensory-integrated activities to build left/right brain integration, concentration, body awareness, discipline, and confidence.
These classes also introduce breathing and relaxation techniques that are especially beneficial for this age group, along with promoting flexibility, strength and balance.
